GLASS CRAFTS — TILE PENDANT NECKLACE
While browsing a copy of Mollie Makes
magazine, I discovered a gallery of designs and crafts by one of my favorite fabric designers Jennifer Paganelli of Sis Boom Fabrics. Deciding one of her sky-blue prints would brighten up my winter wardrobe, I decided to transform the magazine photograph into a unique glass craft. The tile pendant is easy to make and great for crafters that are new to jewelry design.
Materials & Tools:
- Glass tile
- Bail (attaches the pendant to the necklace chain)
- Image from a magazine
- Scissors
- Mod Podge
- Nail file
- E6000 glue
- Toothpick
- Necklace chain or ribbon
Step 1
Cut a small square about the size of your tile from a magazine or photo. Don't worry about the size being exact. We will be filing the ends eventually.
Step 2
Dot Mod Podge on top of your image and then press to the glass tile. The image will show out of your glass tile. Press and allow to dry 4-5 minutes. Once dry, file the ends by dragging file downwards so that the ends press into the tile.
Step 3
Spread E6000 glue on the back of the magazine clip with a toothpick (so that the glue doesn't stick to your fingers). Allow to dry another 4-5 minutes. This E6000 seals the back of the pendant to make it more water- and dirt-proof.
Step 4
Once dry, dab a spot of E6000 glue on the back of the bail and attach to back of the pendant. Press and allow to dry 4-5 minutes.
Step 5
Attach the pendant to the necklace chain or ribbon.
